SPICY HOT CHOCOLATE FLOATS

Hot chocolate mixture can be made 1 day ahead, cooled, covered, and refrigerated. Cover and rewarm over medium-low heat before serving.

INGREDIENTS

  • 2 1/2 cups low fat milk
  • 8 ounces dark chocolate (bittersweet or semisweet), chopped
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1 small Fresno chile pepper , halved (optional)
  • 1/2 tsp. ground cinnamon
  • 2 2/3 cups Breyers® Natural Vanilla Ice Cream

INSTRUCTIONS

  1. In a medium heavy saucepan over medium heat, stir milk, chocolate, sugar, chile, and cinnamon until chocolate melts and mixture comes to a near simmer. Remove from heat, cover, and steep for about 5 minutes. Discard chile.
  2. Place a 1/3-cup scoop of Breyers® Natural Vanilla Ice Cream in each of 8 small bowls. Pour hot chocolate over ice cream and serve immediately.
