Makes
10 serving
1 packet of 10 ready-made dessert taco shells
1 tub (48 oz) Breyers Natural Vanilla Ice Cream
1 bottle chocolate shell topping
½ cup roasted salted peanuts, finely chopped
Rainbow sprinkles and assorted candy (optional)
Line a tray or large plate with parchment paper and place it in the freezer while you prepare the ice cream tacos.
Let the Breyers Natural Vanilla Ice Cream stand at room temperature for about 10 minutes until it's soft enough to scoop.
Fill each dessert taco shell with one (or two) scoops of ice cream, gently pressing it into the shell, so it fills the taco evenly without creating air pockets.
Arrange the filled tacos on the chilled tray and freeze for about 20 minutes, or until the ice cream is firm.
Shake the bottle of chocolate shell topping well then drizzle it over the top of the ice cream taco.
Immediately sprinkle over the chopped peanuts, rainbow sprinkles, and assorted candy (if using) before the chocolate drizzle hardens.
Return the ice cream tacos to the freezer for another 10 minutes to set the chocolate shell.
To serve, simply grab them from the freezer and dig in.
Breyers Natural Vanilla Ice Cream brings a classic flavor that pairs naturally with chocolate, chopped peanuts, and colorful sprinkles, so it’s no surprise it's the go-to base for this recipe. Prefer a different flavor? Breyers Chocolate Ice Cream works just as well with the chocolate shell and chopped peanuts. Breyers Cookies & Cream folds crème-filled chocolate cookie pieces into the base, adding little bursts of cookie throughout. No matter which flavor you choose, each one makes it easy to create an ice cream taco that's a little different (and completely amazing) every time.

An ice cream taco is a frozen dessert made by filling a crisp taco-shaped shell with ice cream and finishing it with toppings such as chocolate shell, chopped peanuts, sprinkles, or cookie pieces. It combines the shape of a taco with the flavors and textures of a classic ice cream treat.
Chocolate shell topping, chopped roasted peanuts, sprinkles, crushed cookies, mini chocolate chips, toasted coconut, caramel sauce, and freeze-dried fruit all work well. Add toppings right after the chocolate shell topping so they stick before it hardens.
Classic flavors such as vanilla, chocolate, cookies & cream, strawberry, and butter pecan all work well in ice cream tacos. Match the toppings to the ice cream for balanced flavor and texture or mix different combinations to create a dessert that suits the occasion.
Smaller dessert taco shells, lighter toppings, and reduced portion sizes can help lower the calories in an ice cream taco. Breyers offers options such as CarbSmart™ Vanilla and No Sugar Added Vanilla, which can be used as the base while following the same preparation method.
